Dennis, when you say that suppressors are “unregulated,” can you just walk into a firearms store and buy one or are they any types of qualifications that you have to go through first?

Good article.
As a long-time Buckmark owner, let me mention two things:
First, mine was very accurate right out of the box and with cheap ammo.
Second, it really likes to be clean, and frequently malfunctions when just a little dirty, unlike my AMT Lightning, 10-22, etc.
But a quick shot of a spray cleaner will fix it right up without disassembly.

I’ve been thinking about a Buckmark and I heard you’d need a new barrel as well but here in Finland, where I am, you can buy a silencer kit with an adaptor for about 80 euros, it’ll fit standard buckmark barrels or ruger mk.II/III’s without any problems. Silencers are unregulated here so it’s not hard to acquire.

correct on the problems with walther p22. It just isnt made to the same quality as the ruger, browning or colt woodsman.

Excellent article – I’ve found that the PatchWorm pull-through kit is very useful in cleaning firearms which are difficult to clean from the breech, such as the rimfire Ruger Mark II and III pistols, and the Ruger 10/22 rifle:

I’ve also found CCI Standard Velocity .22 ammo (stock #0032) to be very quiet, clean-burning and accurate in suppressed rimfire pistols and rifles.
